You think that just because you have a Facebook page that your business will suddenly flourish and you’ll be inundated with a lot of orders and customers. Well, don’t get your hopes up because even with a Facebook book fan page, you still need a lot of work to generate that kind of attention to your business especially considering that your other competitors are doing the same thing.

 

A Facebook page is simply a tool to enhance your online presence. Its main advantage is having a whole slew of people that you can tap, engage in conversation and basically promote your business to. If you don’t have an idea where to start, the best place to start is Facebook itself. Start by searching if your competitors have pages and browse what they have at present. I’ve found that there are a lot of tricks that you can learn from many different business pages. See how much people “like” their page or how often they post on their wall and check out more of the statistics that are available on their pages.

What I’ve learned when looking at other business pages (it doesn’t have to be your competitors all the time) is that they regularly post updates and status messages that engage the people who have liked their page in conversation. Some offer promos and contests where people submit entries and win based on the number of “likes”. Some have “click to action” promos to generate traffic into the page. Others simply offer fun and interesting trivia to catch the attention of their subscribers. The more people that share their links or like their status messages result in a wider network of people reached from a single status message or link.

If you want people to like your page and keep coming back to it for continuous traffic and marketing potential, you have to keep coming up with interesting stuff. Your page should be well-designed as well. There are many third-party apps that help you create one-of-a-kind Fan Pages so that when people land in yours, they can’t mistake it for someone else’s because it has your stamp on it. You can also add other apps that can update your Facebook page with material coming for your own website and you can even schedule them to appear on specific days and times. Other applications include choosing a Fan of the Week or simple surveys and polls. You can use these to reward people who drop by your site on a regular basis. It’s also a good token to share with your customers and they will patronize you more for it. You can even include coupons and other freebies with every click or like so that people will keep coming back for more.

 

Try to monitor which posts garner the most likes and try to tailor your posts in like manner. If you can see what your customers appreciate it will be easier to target a marketing ad and be successful at it.
